Planning Questions

How will your media product (thriller film) represent particular social groups (target audience/age groups etc.)?

Our film will represent young people, because our film included topics that teenagers are curious about. As a result of this they would enjoy this film as it will include popular topics that are seen as exciting by young people.

In what ways will your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Our thriller film will use, develop and challenge real forms and conventions of real media products by using suspenseful music, to create a thriller kind environment to keep the viewer on the edge of their seats. It will also challenge the conventions of real media products as the the age of the characters will be young to relate to young people. One example of a thriller film that use young people is Super8.

Who will be the audience for your media product?

Our target audience for our thriller film will be 16 to 24 year olds. We have decided to target our films at this age range because movies are popular amongst the age group. Moreover 16 to 24 year olds visit the cinema the most because they have the most disposable income.

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Our group would prefer 20th Century Fox, an American distribution centre, to distribute our thriller film. We would prefer this because is a renowned and estrablished film distribution company, who are known accross the world. Furthermoreit has a larger market than any other UK distribution center.

How will you attract/adresss your target audience?

In order to attract and adress our tardet audience We will create a page for our thriller film on IMDB. Our page will have a plot summary, the trailer, prictures, a list of the cast and crew and a clip of the film.
